The webinar by REAC expert Hank Vanderbeek will emphasize high point defect identification and how the points are calculated. It will demonstrate how to prioritize unit repairs pertaining to Fire Safety. Some of the defects to be addressed include Sprinklers, Fire Extinguishers, Smoke Detectors, Exigent Health and Safety with a focus on electrical defects, and Industry Standard Repair examples. 

Hank will discuss why sprinkler heads area so important points-wise and how to inspect for defects, how to prepare fire extinguishers and fire hoes for a REAC inspection, what REAC requires regarding smoke detectors, and how a defect is scored for smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, and extinguishers defects. 

You will also gain valuable knowledge about what REAC is looking for with regard to acceptable repairs, and doors, refrigerators, and downspouts will be discussed in detail.

Hank Vanderbeek

Hank owns and manages a commercial and residential property inspection company, and has conducted inspections on thousands of residential and commercial properties as a former Certified REAC Inspector, for insurance companies, and for banks and home buyers.

Authored several books and numerous articles on REAC issues. Books include REAC Inspections, Achieving Success Without Breaking the Bank and The REAC Inspection Handbook 2020 Edition.

An earlier career included the US Army as an officer, the US Government as a Certified Internal Auditor and Certified Fraud Investigator in the Office of Inspector General at the Veterans Administration and the Department of Health and Human Services.

A graduate of Clarkson University with a BS in Management and a BS in Social Science, and Northeastern University with a Master in Public Administration. Licensed Home Inspector in NH and MA, Certified Commercial Property Inspector.
