Management of Change & Change Orders in Construction

Change orders on construction projects are inevitable. They are a fact of life in construction and act as a safety relief valve for both owners and contractors during the course of construction. While changes cannot be stopped altogether, they can and must be managed for the benefit of both the owner and the contractor in order to deliver successful projects on time and within the budget. Thus, owners and contractors must learn how to manage changes to the work during the construction period. This webinar discusses how and why changes arise during the project’s construction phase; what owners can and cannot change; the types of change to the work in progress; how each type of change order should be handled on the site; the rules of contract interpretation; what damages may be owed under the Changes clause; and how changes can be resolved on the project site.
