COVID-19 has been a fast-growing, communicable and deadly disease that became a world-wide pandemic. With this disease attacking the US population it changed our lives, and even more specifically, hospital operations. As hospital operations changed, our case management roles and processes changed as well. As this deadly virus seems to be leveling off, there will be a time that we will return to normal. However, our “old” normal will probably not be our “new” normal.

This webinar by industry veterans, Toni Cesta PhD, RN, FAAN and Bev Cunningham MS, RN, ACM will focus on transition phases for both case management staff—RN case managers and social work case managers—and case management leadership. Speakers will also address the role of the physician advisor in this transition.

An awareness of waivers or changes in rules and regulations by national, state, and local governments, as well as our payers will be critical as the transition occurs.  Staff who have been emotionally impacted by this deadly disease will need support. This is a big ask for case management department leadership.

Lastly, an evaluation must occur. Changes that were made might be appropriate to continue. But, likewise, changes that were made may need to be removed or modified. This webinar will assist case management departments in understanding their focus areas for the next steps to “new” normal.
